Yep. I keep a couple of push-on caps in my work truck just in case.

Construction workers are known to get careless around plumbing lines from time to time. You never know when you might need to make an emergency repair to a live line...

Pex is also nice to work with. I just ran an icemaker line under my house in Pex and it only took about an hour. So far, it seems to be holding pressure just fine...(knock on wood)
